Back in the day

Since 1902, our location has been a bustling meeting place in the heart of Horst aan de Maas. Alphons Baetsen laid the foundation for a rich tradition of hospitality when he built a residence with a café and furniture workshop. Originally known as café Juliana and later as café Coppus, this place has evolved over the years while retaining its charm and warmth.

Since 1988, the Coenders family has been deeply involved in the hospitality industry, starting at café de Noordsingel and party house de Alde Lind. These venues have hosted countless celebrations for locals. In 1995, the family relocated to the current location at Veemarkt and Wilhelminaplein, where they introduced Liesbeth’s Grand Café, continuing their legacy in the form of a new chapter.

Liesbeth’s Grand Café remains true to its roots as a place where young and old gather to enjoy a drink, a snack, or simply a cup of coffee. At the end of the workday, everyone is welcome in our cozy Grand Café.

We offer a thoughtfully curated menu featuring familiar favorites, a fine selection of beers, wines, and cocktails, and a team of friendly, hospitable staff eager to assist you. Our skilled chefs prepare delicious meals without unnecessary frills, complemented by warm background music set at just the right volume for pleasant conversation.
